Code of Conduct

Squad members are expected to attend required training sessions, be regular and prompt.

Squad members should apply effort to their training, listen to the coach’s instructions and be willing to swim as directed.

Squad members should respect other members by giving a positive and honest effort to their training. Work equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team's performance will benefit and so will your own.

Compete for enjoyment. Swim with purpose.

The use of inappropriate or abusive language, bullying, harassment, discrimination or physical violence will not be tolerated and could result in action being taken.

Co-operate with your coach, teammates and officials. Show respect for your opponents and their skills.

Take responsibility for your behaviour and performance.

Be friendly to all participants and treat them as you enjoy being treated yourself.

Encourage and support your own team members.

Entry into the pool is only under coach supervision.


Coaches are responsible for the safety of those who enter the pool area. Directions from coaches or St Edmund’s College personnel must be followed always.

On CYMS St Edmund’s club nights, it the responsibility of the parent/caregiver for the care of the child in and around the pool area. During marshalling and participation in club night, they will be under the supervision of club officials.

Health and safety

All swimmers must enter the pool with a swim cap. Please remove all band aids, bandages or dressings prior to entering.  It is also recommended that jewellery is removed as well.


Where lessons or squads are cancelled due to weather or other reason at the instigation of the College a credit will be offered. A refund will be given on a case by case basis. 

We do not offer make up lessons or credit/refund for missed learn to swim lessons.
